The MKFD300C electric pellet mill is specially designed to process alfalfa and forages into high-quality, nutritious, and easy-to-store pellets. Featuring an interchangeable flat die, users can quickly adjust pellet size and density according to animal diet or production needs, ensuring a uniform product with high added value.
Alfalfa Preparation
For optimal pelleting, the raw material must meet certain parameters:
- Proper moisture: between 9% and 14%. Within this range, the machine's natural friction (70–80 °C) activates the fiber's natural binder and ensures compaction.
- Sun-dried forage: the same used for baling is ideal.
- Freshly cut forage: should not be used due to excess moisture.
- Overly dry forage: can be slightly moistened with water up to 14%.
- Pre-grinding: forage must be ground to a size smaller than the pellet diameter. Example: for 8 mm pellets, alfalfa should be ground to 7 mm or less.
If the fiber is too long, pellet visual quality decreases and the machine works harder, reducing output.
Possibility to Enrich the Diet
The MKFD300C not only produces pure alfalfa pellets, but also allows mixing up to 40% concentrates or additional ingredients.
Examples:
- Whole or hulled oats.
- Corn and soybeans.
- Vitamin, mineral, and protein premixes.
- Bone meal, salts, or shell grit.
For homogeneous mixtures, it is recommended to use a horizontal mixer before feeding the pellet mill.
