The MKFD260C electric pellet mill is a machine specially designed to process alfalfa and forages into high-quality pellets. With an interchangeable flat die, the user can quickly adjust pellet size and density according to the animal's diet and type, achieving a nutritious, easy-to-store product with high added value.
Alfalfa Preparation
To obtain excellent quality pellets, it is essential to properly prepare the raw material:
- Optimal moisture: between 14% and 17%.
- Sun-dried alfalfa: ready for baling, is the most suitable for pelleting.
- Freshly cut alfalfa: should not be used due to excess moisture.
- Over-dried alfalfa: can be slightly moistened until it reaches 14%.
- Pre-grinding: particle size must be smaller than the pellet diameter. Example: for 8 mm pellets, alfalfa should be ground to 7 mm.
Proper moisture and grinding control ensure compact pellets, free of long fibers, and with the visual quality demanded by the market.
Diet Enrichment
The equipment also allows mixing alfalfa with concentrates (up to 40%) to obtain balanced formulas.
Excellent results have been achieved by adding:
- Whole or hulled oats.
- Corn and soybeans.
- Vitamin and mineral premixes.
- Bone meal, salts, or shell grit.
To guarantee uniform mixing, it is recommended to use a horizontal mixer before feeding the pellet mill.

- Direct start (2.2 to 5.5 kW) or star-delta (higher power).
- Soft starter or frequency inverter for models above 22 kW.
