The MKGD-300 disc granulator with a production capacity of three hundred kilograms per hour is specialized equipment for forming spherical granules from powdered materials used in the fertilizer industry. This granulator uses an inclined rotating disc of eight hundred millimeters in diameter where fed material is moistened and rolls upon itself forming granules through the agglomeration process. The equipment is ideal for producing organic fertilizers, NPK compounds, soil amendments and other agricultural products requiring granular presentation to facilitate dosing, transport and field application.
The granulation process in the MKGD-300 is based on the wet agglomeration principle on an inclined rotating disc. Powdered material is continuously fed onto the disc surface while a binding liquid is applied through a spray system. As the disc rotates, moistened particles begin rolling upon themselves adhering to each other and forming nuclei that progressively grow as they accumulate more material. The disc inclination angle and rotation speed determine the material residence time and therefore the final granule size. Granules that reach the desired size are expelled over the disc edge toward the collection system.
The MKGD-300 granulation disc has a diameter of eight hundred millimeters and is manufactured from wear resistant steel with special coating that prevents adhesion of wet material. The disc inclination angle can be adjusted to optimize the granulation process according to the characteristics of processed material. Disc edges are reinforced to prevent material spillage during rotation. An adjustable scraper keeps the disc surface clean by removing material accumulations that could affect the uniformity of produced granules.
The three kilowatt electric motor of the MKGD-300 provides the necessary power to maintain loaded disc rotation at optimal granulation speed. The gear transmission system reduces motor speed to appropriate disc revolutions, guaranteeing constant torque throughout the entire process. Rotation speed can be adjusted to adapt the equipment to different materials and required granule sizes. The drive system is protected against overloads through electrical devices that automatically stop operation under abnormal conditions.
The MKGD-300 granulator processes a wide variety of materials for granulated fertilizer production. Organic fertilizers based on compost, processed manure, vermicompost and animal origin meals are efficiently granulated with the addition of appropriate binders. NPK compound fertilizers combining nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in specific proportions are formed into uniform granules that guarantee homogeneous nutrient distribution in each particle. Calcareous amendments, granular foliar fertilizers and encapsulated micronutrients can also be produced in this equipment with appropriate process adjustments.
Control of granule size produced by the MKGD-300 is achieved through simultaneous adjustment of several operating parameters. Disc rotation speed directly affects the centrifugal force acting on forming granules. The inclination angle determines material residence time on the disc surface. Binding liquid flow rate controls granule growth speed. Powder material feed rate influences the availability of fine particles for nuclei growth. The operator can adjust these parameters to produce granules in specific size ranges according to final product requirements.
The MKGD-300 spray system uniformly distributes binding liquid over powdered material as it rotates on the disc. Spray nozzles are strategically positioned to moisten material in the optimal disc zone where nuclei formation begins. Liquid flow rate can be precisely regulated through control valves that allow adjustment of moisture added to the process. Binders used vary according to fertilizer type produced and include water, humic acid solutions, diluted molasses, lignosulfonate solutions and other binding agents compatible with product formulation.
Maintenance of the MKGD-300 granulator includes regular disc cleaning after each production session to prevent accumulation of hardened material. The disc scraper must be periodically adjusted to maintain its effectiveness in removing adhered material. Spray nozzles require frequent cleaning to avoid blockages that affect uniform binder distribution. Disc shaft bearings need lubrication according to the established maintenance schedule. Visual inspection of the disc coating allows detection of worn areas requiring renewal to maintain the antiadhesive properties of the surface.
